Well... it happend though I am not a big fan of this photo by myself. There is a lot of details to criticize. The score - 29 pro and 28 contra votes can prove this.
O.K. Anyway - my big thanx and global respect to Sergio Pessolano who made the proposal for the Gallery. He is a splended photographer I'm the real fan of.
Super!!
Skate directly east, Vladimir, and you will find me with my skates - and stick ...
The most beautiful season of the year has arrived! ;-)
But don't forget your camera!
Yukon regards - Robert
@ Wolfgang Vogt:
My first thought - oh, Jesus on a lake.....
Oh, is it already such cold in russia ?
By the way - the pic is very good

Thanx, Wolfgang. It's very nice to hear that from the master.
It's for sure colder in Russia than in Germany now. But the lake itsself is famous to be one of the coldiest.
I like the mood of this picture... although I think that the sun should stand a little bit more to the right (as far as compositional aspects are concerned) and the skater is a little bit oversharpened (looks like a halo), it´s a pro for me!
Regards Kay
Well... Finally I managed to find time and will to comment my own photo, he-he...
First of all let me say a BIG thank to Sergio, whose phorography I'm a real fan of.
I do not like this picture so much. Maybe Sergio, this master can see in my pic something I can't see myself, to be honest. The photo became very noisy due to multiple post-processing. And too yellow as well. I worked with this photo and uploaded on another computer and was dissapointed at home how it looks on my monitor. Too late unfortunately.
@Kay Wölfe: your sharp eyes are not wrong. It's a halo, but not due to the oversharpeness. It was one of my tricks: to improve the composition I cutted the skater out of the place where he stood before - a few feets away. Maybe I was too lazy to remove the halo 8-))
So I'm glad to receive contra-votes, it proves my suggestions what is not perfect with this work.
I know it's an old pic of yours, but it is the first time I see it. And maybe it is not so original to say what everyone says anyways, but it is such an awesome shot with the silhouette of churches way at the back, the light on the lake and the tiny figure of the skater. I am impressed.

Excellent composition and square format. Great visual impact and atmosphere. Clever and refined monochromatism.
