While the men inside got drunk more and more sailors were attracted by the lonely yellow latern outside the club.
When the glanced through the dirty windows they saw that there were rum, beer and the unavoidable ladies which seemed to have a nose for easy earned money.
While sailors from many ships flounced into the room the latern outside did is lonely illuminating job in the darkness of a cold, cold harbour night.
My congratulations! Very beautiful work. It's like one of Henri Matisse's pictures - View of Notre-Dame a little bit. Emotions and charm are similar. I give you link. http://www.abcgallery.com/M/matisse/matisse100.html
Hmmm.... and what about a new competition - Photographer and Artist. Photo should open emotion and spirit of picture. The image of a picture can be given through link. It would be good chance for professionals to show the skill, especially at portraits.
alex, well there is some coincidental similarity ... you're right ... but i would lie if i'd say that i thought of matisse the moment i took the photo ... ;-)
Great eye! I really like the blues that swirl and decay at the top the yellow light at the top really adds a story to the photo. I have also enjoyed your series.
well ... actually the photos came before the story, but when i took them i had something like this in mind ... the beauty is gone and only the ghosts of the past continue to celebrate their shore leave in that rooms ...
the story wasn't that precise when i took the photo and therefore the latern is not illuminated ... hm ... i wonder if there would have been energy to fire it up?
...traumhaft schönes Motiv, perfekt von Dir in Dein Photo umgesetzt... das Motiv wäre sicher auch mit Mischlicht genial, ich würde immer wieder dort hin gehen, zu den unterschiedlichten Tageszeiten...
