Good morning World and all its inhabitants.
The air this morning is crisp and chilly to say the least.
We are well over the halfway mark into Autumn, something that slipped my mind.
Having lived in Karratha for all those years and having only two seasons, one tends to forget about these factors of nature.
Then I lived in Thailand for about a year and a half in the last two years.
I guess my body is attuned to the tropics and subtropics.
Today’s photo, of the beautiful, happy, and smiling face of my friend ON.
I have over 4000 photographs of this beauty and each tells a story.
Ali, the 77 kilo female Rottweiler, and I are now at one, had to get another bag of tennis balls as she has chewed the others up.
I only have to mention walking and she starts dancing around the lounge.
Wow have I had some amazing food lately, one could describe it only as a cosmopolitan smorgasbord.
Firstly, I was invited out by a Bosnian family to a BBQ.
Well they have a style of their own in the department of culinary delights, in particular I savoured their BBQ red capsicum, later pickled in vinegar olive oil and herbs and the pickled octopus served with grappa.
Mmmmmm Slatko (delicious), thank you Marsia, Dean and my coffee queen, Hanna!!
Next my dear friends of about 26 years, none other than Hannes und Waltrud.
These Austrian friends of mine are symbolic of true friendship.
They are so hospitable, I am treated to wonderful meals here, real coffee and homemade breads, and Hannes has a grister and grinds his own wheat and makes these wonderful sour dough breads.
Whaltrud is an expert in the cakes and strudel department and cooks some wonderful Austrian- German meals.
My favourite, are her snitzels, leker leker leker, ja ja ja.Oh don’t forget the schnapps to refresh the palate afterwards.
Danke Hannes und Waltrud, for your many years of wonderful friendship and kindness.
On Friday morning I was collected by my Swiss mate Werni and taken for coffee downtown Fremantle and after that went off to visit a Swiss bakery, filled with delicious breads and cakes.
When I entered it, I thought I was back in NeuStad an der Weinstrasse Germany, with its quant bakeries filled with their wonderful varieties of breads.
I have another 5 invitations to meals and coffee outings, Italian, Swedish and Australian
This morning I visited a huge produce market, wow I was blown away at the awesome price of seafood, but red meats and vegetables were reasonable.
Now about my internet connection, I do not have a phone line here where I am house minding.
I have been visiting an internet outlet, this proves rather expensive though.
$ 30 for a taxi there and back plus $5 per hour on a slow connection.
So I have opted for a Telstra satellite wireless card.
Very expensive it is, the unit is $349 and an antenna and connection $ 80, the service costs $89 per month @ 1 GB per month.
So it works out pretty expensive.
So I should be back in the stream again.
