Dopo l’Octopus di Paul Allen, un altro superyacht nel Porto di Genova: il “Radiant” (Ex Darius), 110 metri di scafo grigio, ormeggiato presso la banchina di Pesto lungo il molo dei Magazzini del Cotone. Costruito nel 2009 dal cantiere tedesco Lurssen, è considerato da alcuni il più costoso e sicuro yacht mai costruito, in considerazione dei suoi equipaggiamenti Hi Tech e per la sua capacità di ospitare 16 passeggeri.

Mentre Tim Heywood si è occupato del design degli esterni, ispirandosi tra l’altro alla linea del motoryacht “Pelorus” (posseduto in passato da Roman Abramovic), gli interni sono stati progettati da Glen Pushelburg.



Il motor yacht, dotato di eliporto, offre un’esperienza unica di lusso ed eleganza: gli ospiti possono beneficiare di una palestra, cinema e due grandi piscine.



Il megayacht, varato con il nome “Darius”, era stato ordinato dell’esiliato magnate russo Boris Berezovsky , ma a seguito di problemi finanziari e di inadempienze contrattuali, lo stesso magnate si è trovato costretto a venderlo ad Abdulla Al Futtaim (Presidente del Gruppo Al Futtaim) appartenente ad una delle più ricche dinastie degli Emirati Arabi, che lo subito ridenominato “Radiant”.
Pare che il prezzo di vendita sia stato di 240 milioni de Euro.

Motor yacht Radiant was constructed in 2009 under the project ‘Darius’ to be submitted to the new owner in February 2010. Its exteriors carry strong and elegant designs of the celebrated designer Tim Heywood. The attractive and generous interiors have been designed by Glen Pushelburg.

The builders of Radiant had the competitor motor yacht Pelorus in mind while working on its sketches. Tim Heywood has also made contributions to Pelorus, a 115m mega yacht which was formerly possessed by Roman Abramovich. Bringing in splendor and elegance, this beauty was claimed to be the 2nd most beautiful yacht – ever by the world’s leading designers. The vivid similarity between Radiant and Pelorus remains to be their exterior appearances.

Moreover, there have been some reports that claim Radiant to be the most expensive and safest yacht in the history of yacht making. It consists of hi-tech equipments and has a capacity to house 16 passengers. The guests can enjoy facilities such as helipad, gym, cinema and two large swimming pools. Another significant aspect of M/Y Radiant is that it can hold high-power water cannon that can lower a boat from 100m away. In all, Motor Yacht Radiant is sure to provide its guests with a unique experience including luxury, elegance and militaristic safety.
