ca. 120 km south of Vancouver in Washington State Mount Baker rises out of nowhere floating on the horizon .... taken last week from Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Park with some Vancouver houses visible in the foreground .... (no editing except a bit of sharpening and contrasts).

Mount Baker (3286m high) is an active glaciated andesitic stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc and the North Cascades of Washington in the United States. Mount Baker has the second-most thermally active crater in the Cascade Range after Mount Saint Helens. About 50 km east of the city of Bellingham, Mount Baker is the youngest volcano in the Mount Baker volcanic field
