San Galgano
**Toscana - Marzo 2015**
The Abbey of San Galgano is a Cistercian abbey, located about thirty kilometers from Siena, in the municipality of Chiusdino.
The site consists of the hermitage (called "circle of Montesiepi") and the great abbey, now completely ruined and reduced to only walls, destination of tourist flow. The lack of the roof - which emphasizes the articulation of the architectural structure - this is common in the abbey to those of Melrose and Kelso in Scotland, Tintern in Wales, of Cashel in Ireland, of Eldena in Germany and the Convento do Carmo in Lisbon.
