The World Below the Tracks

A stairway up to the Marcy Avenue Station of the New York City Subway system.

Located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, this station serves trains
of the J, M, and Z lines, connecting Manhattan with Brooklyn and Queens.

...and a funny thing of this photo of the New York City SUBWAY system is that these tracks are above the ground!

  Thank you, Susana. Actually, one of my fascinations with the NYC Subway system is that it does involve lots of trackage on elevated structures, thus allowing photos that include the character of the surrounding or "underlying" neighborhoods - the worlds below the tracks!. That is even the case in northern Manhattan, although the elevated trackage is much more extensive in Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.
