A June Bug

I believe this to be a beetle from the Melolonthinae family which is a subfamily of the scarab beetles (family Scarabaeidae). It is a very diverse group; distributed over most of the world, it contains over 11,000 species in over 750 genera.
I took this image at the end of June in Ontario, have never seen one here in Vancouver, but remember childhood days when we saw many, many Maikaefer (May Bugs) in Germany. The flowers are new to me so I don't know their name ....

thank you, dear Robert (Buatois) for your plant identification - it is one of the many species of Milkweed, and yes the beetle a June Bug or Cockchafer ...
