Siracusa by night

Siracusa is located on the southeastern side of Sicily. Its geography is very varied, within it there are hills with moderate heights, while two rivers languish on the southwest side of the city. It mostly confines itself to the sea, which surrounds it almost entirely. The coast is predominantly rocky and jagged, showing several promontories, bays, small islands and peninsulas.
The town develops partly on the island of Ortigia and partly on the mainland; bearing in mind that the entire area is located within the island of Sicily, precisely because of its geographical feature, Syracuse is often appealed as an island in the island.
The particular geographic location has made it famous for its sunsets, thanks to the zenith points from which they are observed, they have been described in the millennia as one of the most beautiful in the world.

"It occupies a very strong position, and also beautiful from any direction there, both on land and by sea, and has two ports almost enclosed and embraced by the buildings of the city. These ports have different inputs, but they join and flow to the other end. At the point of contact, the part of the city called the island, separated by a sea arm, is however united and connected to the rest by a narrow bridge ... »
