The Hubbard Glacier
Hubbard Glacier, the largest calving glacier on the North American Continent advanced across the entrance to 35-mile-long Russell Fiord during June 2002, temporarily turning it into a lake. Hubbard Glacier has been advancing for more than 100 years and has twice closed the entrance to Russell Fiord during the last 16 years . (etc)
After seeing icebergs and glaciers melting and receding in the Antarctic, Chile, Iceland, Greenland, Canada and Alaska it was a great suprise that this glacier is still growing.

Another very impressive picture of this imposing and very"alive" glacier. Very noticable is the bluish tint most probably due to the intraviolet lens factor. Let's hope that it continues to grow and does not adapt to the general glacier world. Now that was a bit sarcastic, because we ourselves also bear responsibility that the warming happens and glaciers melt.Best regards
