Woodland Calm No.36 - Woods Below Hidden Pond
Technically, the second day of spring with late afternoon sunlight
bathing the forest, as the season bows with lovely weather.
The focal point of Hidden Pond Nature Center in northern Virginia's Fairfax County is the placid pond
from which it takes its name. However, descending into the valley below, one finds inviting trails to explore,
winding along scenic streams. A portion of this particular trail provides a zig-zagging boardwalk through the forest.
It's now a month since my photography on that day, so I look forward to returning, perhaps in the coming week,
to see what Mother Nature has been up to in terms of the springtime pastels of new growth in the forest.
