Hi, nice to be here, I'm Marcus...
When I was 5 years old I was sometimes allowed to take a few pictures with my father's SLR camera. He used color slide films, so we had "cinema" events after each vacation - it belonged together somehow. So I also used slide films when I got my own SLR (a Nikon FG-20 in 1987). That's why I occasionally show scans of color slides from my archive also, but I had to learn that not all slides can be scanned equally well and that noise reduction with contrast maintenance is a new challenge every time.
A few years ago I ventured into the digital world with the purchase of a Canon EOS 700D and an EOS R later and I really enjoy taking pictures in RAW, trying new things and doing some basic post-processing.
And... Luckily, no post-processing is able to replace our own instincts when shooting ...

Nice work,Thorny and keep on doing it. I'm still doing a lot of work converting to digital old positives, especially Velvia and Provia, with very satisfactory results very much helped for it by the excellent film scanner NIKON COOLSCAN 9000. The EPSON 4900 is also very good. I think it's a pity to have so many old slides and keep them...."inactive"!friendly alexander
