The ex South African Railways NGG 16 Class Garratt engine of Welsh Highland Railway number 87 pulls its train along the lake of Llyn Cwellyn. It started its journey though the drizzle of the day in Caernarvon and is heading for Porthmadog now.

After spotting the column of steam rising in the countryside, I had a little race to get ahead of the train to find a good photo spot. After the train passed, I jumped back into the car to go overtake it again, before it reaches its next halt in Rhyd Ddu.
