Adios!
bis ich wieder nach Urlaub da bin.
Leider auch wahrscheinlich Adios zur Hershey Electric Railway. Die letzte elektrische 'Interurban' (Überlandbahn) in Amerika sterbt langsam wegen Mangeln von Ersatzteile und Investionen. Auch dieses Bild (aus 2001) lässt sich nicht mehr erleben. Die alte Brill Triebwagen sind noch als Touristzug da, aber müssen von Lokomotiven geschleppt werden.
The Hershey Electric Railway ( for decades now part of the Cuban National Railways system) is dying on its feet due to problems of finding the necessary investment for equipment replacement. It represents the last remaining typical North American electric Interurban railway outside museum operations. Even this picture taken in 2001 can no longer be captured as the old Brill railcars which form the tourist operation have to be hauled by a locomotive.

I was there in 1995 and I will try to take such pictures in the early year 2005.Cuba is still a great island with wonderfull people.
