Blauracke & Wiedehopf

Welch großartige Sichtung: Blauracke und Wiedehopf zusammen auf einem Bild!

Es ist allein immer schon ein schönes Gefühl, einen Wiedehopf im Flug fotografisch zu erwischen. Eine Blauracke zu sichten und zu fotografieren ist für jeden Hobby-Ornithologen freilich ein Traum. Blauracken sind bei uns schließlich Ausnahmeerscheinungen.

Beide, Wiedehopf und Blauracke, zusammen auf einem Bild ist freilich ein ganz großes, seltenes Glück. Das hatte ich bei einer Führung von János Világosi im Nationalpark Hortobágy. Zunächst hatte János hoch auf einem Baum eine Blauracke gesichtet. Diese konnte ich vom Auto aus mit einiger Mühe fotografieren. Plötzlich flog ein zweiter Vogel hinzu, ein junger, frecher Wiedehopf, der versuchte, die Blauracke zu verjagen. Der Wiedehopf gab sein Unternehmen aber gleich auf und flog selbst davon.

Zumindest bescherten dieser Wiedehopf und die Blauracke meine bislang wohl schönste Sichtung…

What a great sighting: European Roller and a young Eurasian Hoopoe in one picture!

It is always a great feeling to catch a Eurasian Hoopoe in flight. Sighting and photographing a European Roller is a dream come true for every amateur ornithologist. European Rollers are, after all, exceptional.

Both Eurasian Hoopoe and European Roller together in one picture is of course a great stroke of luck. I had this luck during a guided tour by János Világosi in Hortobágy National Park. First, János spotted a European Roller high up in a tree. I was able to photograph it from the car with some effort. Suddenly a second bird flew in, a young Eurasian Hoopoe, which tried to chase the European Roller away. But the Eurasian Hoopoe immediately gave up and flew off by itself.

At least this Eurasian Hoopoe and the European Roller gave me my most beautiful sighting so far...
