Dresden Frauenkirche

Built in the 18th century, the beautiful and unique Dresden Frauenkirche was totally destroyed
during the "Bombing of Dresden" between 13th and 15th February 1945.
For the next 45 years the debris lay in a pile, because political authorities of East Germany did not allow a reconstruction.
After the reunification of Germany funding and reconstruction started, using original plans from the first architect in 1720, Georg Bähr,
and today´s state of the art computer aided imaging.
To visit the Dresden Frauenkirche is a breath-taking event. The church building is so beautiful,
the architecture very impressive and the view from the top of the dome just awesome.
