Early this morning, the last of our troops left Iraq.
As we honor and reflect on the sacrifices that millions of men and women made for this war, I wanted to make sure you heard the news.
Bringing this war to a responsible end was a cause that sparked many Americans to get involved in the political process for the first time. Today's outcome is a reminder that we all have a stake in our country's future, and a say in the direction we choose.

Was soll ich jetzt anmerken,
- das besondere, sehr gute Foto oder
- die besonderen Worte (Lügen ?) der Politiker ?
Ich bleibe beim Foto, welches mir eine Sicht auf
menschliche Behausungen darlegt, in denen sich Abertausende sicher fühlten !

So schön, wie sich die Nachricht auch anhört:Ich glaube, daß im Irak noch einige tausend sog. "Berater" verbleiben werden, die die Ölgeschäfte mit dem Irak weiter abwickeln werden.
Du glaubst doch nicht im Ernst, daß Bush - auch ein lupenreiner Demokrat - dies ganze Schlamassel angefangen hat, um dem Irak die Demokratie zu bringen.
Hier geht es auch wieder um handfeste wirtschaftliche (Öl-)Interessen. Und wenn die Iraker nicht spuren werden, dann wird wieder einmarschiert. Ein Grund wird sich doch finden lassen. Kann Mr. Rumsfeld ja als Berater tätig werden.
Dein Bild sieht sehr farbig und "erfrischend" aus, obwohl es die Kälte im Sonnenschein widerspiegelt.

Zu dem Text möchte ich nichts sagen. Obama hat
diesen Krieg ja geerbt und er hatte versprochen, ihn
zu beenden und das hat er getan.
