Kraftwerk in Eisenmarkt (1914)

This is the Thermo Electric Plant no. 1 in Hunedoara (Eisenmarkt), Romania during it's construction in 1914. This generated steam and electricity for the ironworks and blastfurnaces. The turbines were made in Budapest - Hungary. The plate on the turbines says LANG L. GÉPGYÁR. R.T. BUDAPEST.
At the time of the construction Transylvania was still part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. The powerplant reached a peak power production of 12800000kWh in 1943. Currently the turbines are gone and a window factory operates in the building. Sorry about the bad quality of the picture, the original was in very bad shape. I recovered it from the old photo laboratory of the steelworks which has been devastated. The white spots were caused by film developing chemicals dripping on it during years of neglect. I recovered hundreds of old photos from the abandoned archive which are waiting to be scaned and restored. There are minimal corrections made to this photo. One day when I will have time I will edit this properly. Hope you like it.
