Let fly a sky lantern
Loy Krathong and Yi Peng are two of Thailand's most famous festivals (also known as the Thailand Lantern Festivals) that both take place on the same day. Swarms of sky lanterns, decorated with good luck wishes and prayers are released to the sky on the two nights of celebrations.
Traditional paper lanterns were made in the image of myths, things from nature and or in the spirit of local culture. Modern ones have many more different shapes: from traditional dragons to pop icons. They symbolize joy, celebration, good fortune and longevity, and they have role as protectors from evil.

Danke all den Kommentatoren, die Verwendung von Himmelslaternen in Deutschland ist verboten und das ist, nach dem traurigen Ereignis in Krefeld, unbedingt notwendig. Darum bitte keinesfalls nachahmen.In Thailand und den Nachbarländern aber ist es Tradition und doch streng reglementiert und vorgeschrieben, wann, wo, wieviel und wieoft die Lupong Fai. so der thailändische Name, erlaubt sind, fliegen zu lassen. (Beispiel: das Seidenpapier darf nur verkohlen, aber sich nicht entzünden und der Parafindocht darf nicht nachglühen.) Grüße aus Thailand Wolfgang

Die Fluglaternen sind gefährlich weil schn Brände entstanden sind-Die Teilnehmer freuen sich über eine solche Beleuchtung.

Bei uns in Krefeld ist vermutlich das Affenhaus im Zoo durch so eine Laterne abgebrannt .Viele Tiere sind verbrannt . Darum auch verboten
