This fellow is a steady visitor to our feeders throughout the winter months. He is actually a red or fox squirrel whichever you choose. If you look closely the red is predominate in places. They are not as plenty full in Omaha as they are across the Missouri River in Council Bluffs, Iowa. One explanation I've heard is that one in one thousand are born with this genetic mutation. I need to so more research on this subject.
