PILGRIMAGE
To start with, the Vietnamese Buddhist festival of Chua Huong at the Perfume Pagoda. The festival takes place in the first Lunar month each year.
The pilgrims catch a rowing boat from the little town of My Doc (about 70 km from Hanoi) to the summit of Huong Tich where the Perfume Pagoda is.
Crowds of people make the pilgrimage and it is a very happy yet solemn moment I was priviledged to be part of last month.
The road to My Doc among rice fields, through picturesque villages was wonderful. The boat trip was magic.
As the weather was pretty poor I had to use the camera set on 800 ISO. Not ideal.
