Sauron´s World

In Europe Easter fires are lit mostly on Saturday before Easter. The tradition dates back to ancient times and served to banish the winter. The people probably thought that the light of the fire would have a cleansing effect and protect the germinating seeds of evil spirits. Easter fire were considered as a cult to ensure fertility, growth and harvest, and the ashes were spread on the fields.

Today the numbers of Easter fires are more and more limited and need a permission due to environmental problems. However, still a lot of people are meeting this night out in the meadows to enjoy the powerful fire, the heat, a bratwurst and some beer :-)
