Storm Over the Okavango Delta

This year the rain season took much longer then usual and in the Northern Botswana and Zambia the daily precipitation reached up to 250 mm even in the end of January. It was fascinating to watch during a 300km drive from Nata to Maun how such a storm builds up from small cumuli clouds to a real storm system of about 20 km in diameter. Later then from a small Cessna we saw this beautiful storm over the Okavango Delta. This beautifully meandering channel is called the Takhle River and creates the Western boudery of the Okavango Delta.
