Tanaka Boy

Tanaka is what Burmese use to make a paste and then apply on their face. They rubb pieces of tanaka wood every morning with some water, and then collected it with the hand for direct application on the skin. This is used usually only by girls and woman, but this picture proofs: also by young children and even babies.
According to my guide(s), it should protect agaist the sun... but I think it is mainly tradition in Burma, a beauty factor. :-)

Remark: Seen at the entrance to the Shwe Tha Lyaung Reclining Buddha, impressively 55 meters long...
