The dromedary

(Camelus dromedarios)

it is called also one-humped or Arabian camel

It belongs to the group of large camels, has only one hump and lives in Arabia and North Africa.
It grows over two meters high and can weigh up to 1000 kg.
The dromedary has been used as a riding or pack camel for about 4000 years and can go for weeks without water.
It eats even hard, thorny plants, runs up to 80 km per day and can live up to 40 years.

Es gehört zur Gruppe der Großkamele, hat nur einen Höcker und lebt in Arabien und Nordafrika.
Es wird über zwei Meter hoch und kann bis zu 1000 Kilogramm schwer werden.
Das Dromedar wird seit etwa 4000 Jahren als Reit- oder Lastkamel genutzt und kann wochenlang ohne Wasser auskommen.
Es frißt selbst harte, dornige Pflanzen, läuft bis zu 80 Kilometer pro Tag kann bis zu 40 Jahre alt werden.
