The Living Forest (364) : Large Red Damselfly
Each spring, the large red damselfly is mostly the first damselfly to come out (usually from late april).
Dutch name : Vuurjuffer (ook Rode Waterjuffer genoemd)
German name : Frühe Adonislibelle (auch Frühe Adonisjungfer genannt)
Latin name : Pyrrhosoma nymphula

The shot was made last week on a pleasant sunny day.
This week it’s bitterly cold over here with regularly snow showers (currently 20 cm of snow on Hohes Venn !)
Poor little damselfly…..
