The Middle Ages (80) : Stable boy and Princess
This series is an attempt to illustrate how life was going on in the Middle Ages.
When a royal princess went on a journey, a whole lot of servants went along.
The stable boy had not only to care for the horses, but also to wash the hair of the princess if needed.
Did you know that a mixture of goat milk and herbs was used as ‘shampoo’ ?

a beautiful scene ... I am fascinated by the little animal pelt the stable boy is wearing on his hat ... and the "potion" for washing her hair - I have heard that lately there is a trend to no longer use shampoo for washing one's hair :-))greetings, Adele
