This Shoe Never Had It So Good (Greg at Work)
Greg Mosesian is truly an old world craftsman.
He and his brother Sarkis own Alfa Shoe and Luggage Repair in Vienna, Virginia.
Since the late '70s, Greg and Sarkis, have kept my shoes and luggage items looking and feeling like new.
Their work is a trusty oasis in a world of disposable-everything.
I asked Greg if I could take some photos of him at work, while checking out my newly acquired '70s-era
Minolta 7S II compact rangefinder camera. Seemed kind of appropriate, as the camera dated from
about the same period in which I started bringing my shoes to Alfa.
The photo was taken on Kodak T400CN black and white film through the Minolta's 40mm f/1.7 Rokkor lens.

"Craftwork has a golden bottom/foundation/ground" as we use to say: Handwerk hat goldenen Boden!It´s the same over here, a good repair shop is hard to find nowadays.
There´s a lot written and told about european craftsmen - often bakers, butchers, brewers and the like, who made their luck in the states, due to their craftsmenship and skills.
A very good photograph, as already said!

You have implemented the black and white processing particularly effectively Steve. Here you can see the most important details. It is interesting to admire this long gone handwork here through you. A really very good photography. Thanks a lot also for your graet informations. nice regards jürgen
