Volcano

Back into the mountains we went to see Crater Lake, a vast crater that came into existence when a huge volcano collapsed into its emptied magma chambers, which subsequently filled with water. Then later eruptions created a new picture-perfect volcano cone which is now an island in the lake. The setting is so unique, large and marvellous, it’s hard to grasp its magnificence. One of the outstanding places we’ve been to so far, for sure.
