some subjects simply beg for a presentation in monochrome! this one here does: the translucency of the lily petals makes them resemble a precious or semiprecious stone, like e. g. white onyx. and no green in the leaves to distract our view from that timeless elegance. plus, there's a great deal of dynamic energy in the seemingly static blossom: the slender shape of the petals, their "opening up" to all sides – a powerful equivalent of motion! finally, the "synchronized growing" of the two blossoms for me triggers visions of a waterlily pas de deux… usually i'm not too fond of "flower images" but in this case i could look at it forever, as they exert such a nice calming effect on the soul – spa, feng shui, well-being, ayurveda of the soul – you name it, it's there! ; )) greetings, sabine.
