on the beaches of Normandy, a pivotal point in the Second World War...

This winter afternoon view through the colonnade of the Atlantic Theater section of Washington's
World War Two Memorial looks east toward the Washington Monument, just beyond on the National Mall.

The Memorial honors United States military personnel who lost their
lives in battles on the Atlantic and Pacific fronts of the Second World War.

The photo was shot through a Carl Zeiss Biogon 21mm
f/2.8 T* wide-angle lens on a Contax G2, through a red filter.
