A Streetcar Named...Ektachrome

The long anticipated announcement from Kodak Alaris - that the new Ektachrome slide film is on its way to dealers - having appeared Tuesday prompted me to revisit a set of Ektachrome-200 slides shot on a perfect September afternoon in 1999 on Granville Island, Vancouver, B.C.

The lovely weather provided many opportunities to shoot a number of Ektachrome stocks, including
also 100-S, 100SW, and 100VS, and to enjoy each Ekta-version's attractive palette in viewing my slides.

On this particular afternoon, No. 1207, a wooden sided interurban car built in 1905, was rumbling along its scenic right of way on Granville Island, delighting its passengers with its distinctive and nostalgic sounds and open window charm.

This Ektachrome moment, receiving its first exposure, was shot on E-200 in my
Canon EOS-1, through a Tamron 28-200mm LD AF lens wearing a polarizer.

It is presented now in gleeful anticipation of once again loading some "new" Ektachrome in a camera or two.
