AFFINIS - FLIGHT

Ähnlicher Goldkäfer (Protaetia affinis) is quite rare Cetonid in Central Europe. When flying, Cetonids open their first wing pair only slightly,
and thus have better aerodynamics and can grow much heavier relative to their body length than any other big beetles.

It was caught by my friend Cetonid specialist Petr Sipek from Faculty of Science, Charles University.
The cherries in the background have been used to feed the beetles.
