Castle ruins Franchimont (Belgium)
This is part of the ruins of a castle built in the 11th century as a stronghold on a rock in the Belgian Ardennes at Franchimont.
The original building was extended several times during the Middle Ages, once after a fire in 1387.
During the subsequent centuries the castle was often besieged and came more and more into disrepair.
Unfortunately, the castle was never rebuilt.

You should be so honest (for example in the tags), to mention that this is digiart ( a result of Photoshop & Co.) and that the picture of the castle is obviously taken as a day-light-shot!
