I love everything about this image, especially the dynamics created by the way in which the sheep under the tree and the lamb that's farther away silently communicate with each other (appropriate title by the way). I also enjoy the composition. I have the feeling there is no element in this picture that doesn't belong here. The winding tree trail dividing the scene through the middle, with the sheep on one side and the houses on the other side (including the lighthouse (?) in the distance) is another detail I like that gives a more profound meaning to the photo.
Thank you Alexandra.
Of the 30 or so photos i made that afternoon I thought this one had the most narrative.
Although the tower on the hill is built like a lighthouse it is actually just a tower built to commemorate the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria ... it is possible to climb a spiral staircase to a viewing platform at the top. I used to think it was a stone rocket when I was a small boy ;-))
