Typisch für Bologna sind die wunderschönen, meist schwungvoll gewölbten Säulengänge, die sich durch die Stadt ziehen und viele der prächtigen Plätze, Kirchen und Paläste miteinander verbinden. Die UNESCO hat davon 12 Abschnitte mit einer Gesamtlänge von ca. 40km als Weltkulturerbe anerkannt. Nimmt man alle zusammen, sind es sogar 62km!
Da wir ja mitten in der Hitzewelle dort waren - und in Bologna ist es immer mit am heißesten, wurde uns vorher schon gesagt - dienten sie uns natürlich auch auch Schattenspender und Ort der kurzen Erholungen …
Warst du schonmal in Bologna?

Typical of Bologna are the beautiful, mostly sweeping arched colonnades that run through the city and connect many of the magnificent squares, churches and palaces. UNESCO has recognised 12 of these sections with a total length of around 40 km as a World Heritage Site. If you take them all together, it’s even 62 kilometres!
As we were there in the middle of a heatwave - and Bologna is always one of the hottest places, as we had been told beforehand - they also provided us with shade and a place to take a short break ...
