Cut the meat off
Selfportrait, 2015
I made this photo in the summer 2015, while visiting my parents in Slowenia, where I was born. Finding myself in the house of my childhood, I was confronted with the issues, I had to deal with, when I was growing up - eating disorders, overweight, body obsession, lack of freedom in discovering my own sexuality etc. Standing there as a grown up woman, the memories took control of me and I remebered of a picture, which I often saw in my mind, when I was a little girl – back then I often wanted to take the scissors and cut the meat off. Twenty years later I took the camera and made the images out of my mind haptic. To strive after perfection, but miss the point, where the borders cross, when productiveness becomes destructive – this is the game of balance, that we all play, and also, what this photo is about.

Ein sehr emotionales Bild.Es entsteht eine unglaubliche Spannung; die Erläuterung zum Zustandekommen hätte es wohl fast nicht gebraucht.
Du gibst sehr viel preis, das finde ich mutig und stark
und tröstlich, denn es nimmt dem Betrachter wenigstens ein bißchen die Sorge, zeigt es doch eine bereits verarbeitete Verletzlichkeit.
Tja, ich glaube, man darf gespannt sein, was Du in Zukunft hier noch an Bildern zeigen wirst.

Lieber Guido, da bin ich deiner Meinung, allerdings kam es nie zu einem Schnitt. Das Photo ist ins Bild versetzte Imagination. Jeder von uns stellt sich einiges vor, was nie Realität werden soll. Gruß!G Goldbach 20/01/2016 22:50
