derwent water

.

The Lake District (also known as the Lakes) is a region in the northwest of England adjoining the Scottish border.

Derwent water is nor the biggest (which is Windermere i believe) nor the most famous (Wastwater?) but it has Keswick and the Catbells at its water's edge and easy access to some lovely and easy-to-climb mountains (fells).
