Fenster-Frosch

It is twilight in the Via Mala region village of Andeer in Switzerland's
Canton Graubünden, and this "window frog" is the epitome of cool.

As I've written in some other narratives, music is often "along for the ride" when I'm out with the cameras.
I suppose I could have titled the photo "Window Frog" in my native language. But I can't look at a frog,
real or otherwise, in regions where German is spoken without images in my mind's eye - and ear! - of Frosch,
the inebriated "Schligowitz" - chugging jailer in the effervescent Johann Strauss II operetta "Die Fledermaus."

Pity there wasn't a half-empty bottle of Slibowitz at hand for me to place on the window sill for at least one shot ;-)

So, to the late Josef Meinrad (my favorite Frosch), Willi Boskovsky (conductor of that recording),
and dear Johann Strauss Jr, I lift an imaginary glass as I upload this photo.

"Hic...Uiz! Der...der Schligowitz, der hat's!"

This image is available as a custom printed Photo Note Card.
