Two little cuties, models of the future.
    Beautiful and colourful photograph.
    Jolly well done!!!

    Here is the info you were after;

OSTRICH IS THE LARGEST BIRD IN THE WORLD, IT IS ALSO A RATITE GROUP BIRDS.
THEY ARE COMMON THROUGHT SOUTH AFRICA.

    CLASS: Aves

    ORDER: Struthioniformes

    FAMILY: Struthionidae

    GENUS & SPECIES: Struthio camelus

    CLASSIFICATION:

Largest of all living birds, the ostrich is one of the group of Ratites or flightless birds

characterized by having no keel on the breastbone, vestigial wings, and
(in all but one species) long, strong legs with large-toed feet.
The one species of ostrich is divided into six geographical races, which differ only
sllightly in size, skin coloration, and the size and texture of their eggs.

    RANGE:

Ostriches live in the open, arid country of central and east Africa.
    They usually congregate
in groups with gnus, antelope, zebra, and other grazing animals in a mutually beneficial
alliance as the hoofed animals stir up insects and rodents for the ostrich and the ostrich
    can warn of approaching danger.

    PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
    Height: up to 7 ft.
Weight: up to (and exceeding) 300 lbs.

A large male ostrich stands 7' tall and weighs over 300 pounds. He has an all-black body,
with white tail and wing plumes. The long neck and muscular thighs are bare.
The female is somewhat smaller and is an all-over grayish color.
They can run at speeds of 30-40 miles per hour with strides up to 15 feet apart.
The ostrich does not bury its head in the sand, as myth would have it, but does frequently
rest with the neck outstretched on the ground.
There is an age-old demand for ostrich plumes to satisfy man's vanity, and captive breeding
populations have been established in various areas of the world.
The plumes can be harvested without harming the bird.

DIET: Omnivorous, but chiefly a daytime browser on fruits, seeds and succulents.
Also eats insects, small reptiles and rodents.

BEHAVIORS: Flocks are gregarious and nomadic. Migration is sometimes induced by drought,
but usually the flocks move about in search of food. There is much social interaction
within the flock, and the vestigial wings and bushy tail play an important part in display
rituals. Social rank is established in each group, with adult males and usually one female
    dominant.

ADAPTATIONS: The ostrich is the only living bird with only 2 toes,
which some experts theorize is a trend similar to the reduction of toes in Artiodactyla
and Perissodactyla. The body is broad and heavy with an extremely long neck and small head.
This together with the long legs gives the bird a great height advantage and enables it to
detect disturbances at some distance as it grazes on the open plains.
They evade danger by running on their powerful legs.

BREEDING & GROWTH: Mating takes place after a brief courtship display.
The nest is a shallow depression in the ground that is built mostly by the male.
One male may have several females, all of which lay eggs in one nest.
Although it has long been thought that the hen incubated during the day and the male at
night, recent studies have found that this may not always be the case.
However, the incubation is shared by both sexes. A dominant hen of the flock will spend
more time incubating than the others.

After 40-42 days, the precocial young are hatched.
They are fully grown in 18 months, and sexually mature at 3-4 years.
