magic moon night

some information about the origin of the picture and a brief summary of the German comments:


I made the picture one night before full moon on the 11th July near the place where I’m living at Lake Zurich Switzerland.
It’s rather seldom that the moon shows such broad street of light on the Lake.

Some comments asked me about the sharp outlines of the moon and it’s colours.

The picture is not a DRI but I’ve manipulated the moon a little bit. With this long exposure it would be completely over exposure. So I made a separate picture with correct exposure of the moon and copied this part at the moons original position in the picture slightly larger than the original moon in order to cover the overexposed circle in the sky.

The colour of the moon was really yellow – it started orange and as higher it climbed it changed from orange to yellow to silver.
