Manhattan Bridge
The brawn and majesty of early 20th century bridge building.
In addition to several lanes of vehicular traffic and pedestrian and bike paths, the bridge carries, on its
lower deck, two sets of Subway tracks connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn. On the near (south) side in
this view from the Brooklyn side, can be seen the trackbed of the BMT lines used by the N and Q trains (*),
and on the far side, the tracks for the IND B and D trains.
