Patrol vessel hit by the tsunami wave
One of two police patrol vessels caught by the first tsunami wave off Khao Lak – this one was carried 1.2 km inland narrowly missing a shopping complex; the other vessel rolled and sank near the coast.
The boat was one of the two guard boats for the HRH Khun Bhumi Jensen.
The vessel still remains at the place where it was floated by the tsunami wave. Its a memorial to the tsunami desaster happen in Dec. 2004.
The photo was captured after short time the tsunami desaster during our aid organization.

Khao Lak, eine meiner liebsten Gegenden. Gebannt und entsetzt saß ich Weihnachten 2004 am PC und habe geguckt, wie es meinen Bekannten dort wohl geht…Herbert Rulf 14/03/2021 23:07
Seitdem habe ich keinen Tag mehr an der Westküste verbracht, ich bevorzuge jetzt die Ostküste, Hua Hin, Chumpon, Ko Samui, Songkhla und alles was dazwischen liegt ist auch schön. Und sicher vor einem neuen Tsunami.LG, Herbert

....keine schöne Begebenheit und wenn man bedenkt....mehr als 1,2 km....heftig...und es steht dort als wäre es unversehrt....ein Mahnmal des Unglücks...von damals....VLG Benita
