.Is it not beautiful that we seem to appreciate beauty when it is particularly 'imperfect'. Brightly shining flowers look so perfect...We do of course appreciate their beauty, but it is nothing compared to the beauty when it starts withering.
Maybe it is a reflex, a carving to get the beautiful out of a process we know will end with death.
