Queensboro Plaza Nightscape

5:34 PM - Rush hour on a December evening, and traffic on
Queens Boulevard in Long Island City is at a crawl in both directions.

But above, on both levels of the busy elevated Queensboro Plaza Station, trains are
rumbling in and out, seconds apart, on the N, W, and 7 lines of the New York City Subway
system, serving passengers bound for points in Queens or Manhattan and Brooklyn.

In this photo, a Manhattan-bound W Train has just departed the lower level platform.
