Redshank
The redshank is a pretty rare wading bird that likes to breed in wetlands, damp meadows and especially saltmarshes.
Belgian redshanks stay here all year, but in winter they are joined by redshanks from northern Scandinavia and Russia.
It's mid-February and the redshank in my photo is already wearing its summer plumage !
