The Bridge on the River Kwai

The destination of a sightseeing tour for every Thailand visitor and the veterans of the senseless POWs constructed death railway though Japanese tyranny.
The bridge on the Kwai is for everyone a term that knows about movies or history. No other building symbolizes so much the horror of the Second World War in Asia. Especially the older generation, who was allowed to enjoy the Hollywood movie from the year 1957, in which William Holden and Alex Guinness occupied the leading roles, connects this film with the bridge on the Kwai. Thousands of forced laborers and prisoners of war lost their lives as the Japanese built the route from Burma to Thailand. But as the world changes, you can see this bridge, because today the "Death Railway" and the bridge on the Kwai near Kanchanaburi is one of the most popular sights in western central Thailand.
