The Third Place
Here is a link to an article on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Place. It is about the term of the "The Third Place" which Sony used to advertise the PlayStation2 when it was launched.
So, like it says in the text, the third place is an opportunity to experience broader and more creative (social) interaction with one's environment.
First of all, I love videogames and I think that they can be really entertaining, wether with friends or alone. But what Sony did here, is not correct! I mean, they claim that their gaming system is indispensable to life. They use a very similar slogan while advertising the PlayStation3 which is "This Is Living". So, I'm a bit dissapointed by the advertising campaign of my favorite gaming platform...
But I still enjoy playing videogames!
Unfortunately, I don't own a Ps3 yet...! xD ^^
