The Fungi World (245) : Pine Bolete

Pine Bolete is a very rare fungus that generally appears under pine trees.
It prefers a poor, acidic and sandy soil that is so typical for coniferous forests and can be found from late summer to early autumn.

The fruiting body is edible, but this should be strongly advised AGAINST because the species is much too rare to be picked for the kitchen table !

Dutch name : Denneneekhoorntjesbrood
German name : Kiefern-Steinpilz
Latin name : Boletus pinophilus
