Croatia | Prokurative - Republic Square |
The neo-Renaisance buildings with a Venecian touch, erected during the mid 19th century, opens the square only to the south with a view to the harbour and waterfront (Riva). The intention of these buildings was to emphasize the strong connection to Italian tradition.
Even today this square is one of the most significant places in Split.
